With ski season being invigorated by February snow and spring sports coming up here are a few articles about the importance of taking care of your ankles.

A New Twist on Ankle Sprains-source New York Times

a brief bit on ankle care and the importance of not ignoring those slight sprains/strains that can then lead to bigger problems.

The Ankle: The Last Frontier…-source New York Times

this article addresses many of the above points but further down goes into some great self care strategies. it also addresses briefly the complication of ankle replacements and what might come int he future with better technology.

Remember always check in with your reflexologist about ankle care and strengthening. Seattle is gifted with a reflexology training center that focuses on the anatomy and strengthening the foot and many of the reflexologist coming out of training in Washington know more about the structure and functions of the foot than traditional massage therapists. Ask questions and seek out information, life is too short to hobble around in pain. See our list of Professional Reflexology Practitioners in your area in the side bar!

Take good care of your feet and they will take you far!
